I will say this one is a bit of puff piece:
Cam Newton shines in Nickelodeon Docu-series
The concept for the series is simple, enter the lives of real kids across the country to help them fulfill a life long dream and help spread a little joy along the way. In each new episode of the series, Newton partners with a new kid to help them achieve their ultimate dream through guidance and support. Encouraged to dream big, each dream is unique in its own way with Season 1 featuring dreams ranging from the world of sports and entertainment to fashion designing.
If only everyone felt so sure of Newton:
However, the true star of the series is Newton himself. Newton shines brightly as he works to champion the kids along every step of their journey to achieving their goal. Nickelodeon describes Newton as the ultimate sidekick, but even that title doesn’t seem to truly touch on the vital role Newton plays in each kid’s adventure.
He is the ultimate cheerleader, a helping hand to guide them along their way and to pick them up when they fall down. Newton’s enthusiastic personality and warm demeanor helps the star athlete connect with each kid and his lightheartedness helps to fill the room with laughter and bring smiles to the faces of those around him.
While I agree the premise of the piece I'm not used to reading this type of positive PR stuff about Newton. I'm more used to the back-handed compliment as a best case scenario:
Jacob Tamme used hate to level up
5. Be extra generous to your fans. Most fans will never get a handshake from Tom Brady or Dez Bryant. But a kid would love to get a photo with any guy in a game-worn NFL jersey….even a punter. Cam Newton is one of the biggest pricks in the NFL, but it was hard not to appreciate him handing out footballs to kids after touchdowns last year.
That's about as good as it gets usually.
I'm looking forward to the show and hope it helps people get a better idea of who he really is, that he is genuine and that he got a bad rap from his past.
