Cam Newton announced the birth of his son a few days ago following a week of speculation that Newton's long-time girlfriend gave birth to a baby boy on Christmas Eve. Having the last name "Newton" carries some gravitas, so a good name is important. Would it be Isaac? What about Fig? Ultimately we have the name ... Chosen Newton.
At one point in time Wayne Newton probably thought he was the Chosen Newton, but he'll need to take a seat. Given Cam's love of inserting the No.1 into sentences it only makes sense that he's child is the Chosen1. Heck, we might even get a line of baby clothes from Belk: "MADE by Cam Newton for the Chosen1" -- we can only hope.
The funniest thing about this whole "Cam has a baby" thing is that there's a small subset of Panthers fans that think it's going to distract him from playing football. Like the baby magically appeared on his doorstep without Newton or his girlfriend having nine months to prepare. The knowledge that he was going to have a child might have been the source of all his power this year, think about it. Cam finds out he's going to be a father in March, and by September he's an unstoppable force of football fury.
What I'm saying is: Welcome to the world, Chosen.
