Despite all the best hopes, wishful thinking and quiet pleading to all that is good and holy, Benjamin has been diagnosed officially with an ACL tear requiring at the least six months of recovery.
Originally Ron Rivera called the injury a sprain,a technically not inaccurate assertion. An ACL tear is what's considered a level 3 sprain.
Regardless of what you call it, this means Carolina is without its number 1 wide receiver and one the most dynamic players on the squad. Kelvin stated via Twitter that he will come back and until then he'll be the Panthers biggest fan.
The question now is who can step in and fill his shoes?
While no one on the roster can compare to KB13, the Panthers do find themselves with an abnormally deep wide receiving corps ready to face the challenge.
Now as long as no one else steps foot on that practice field that also saw Josh Norman, Devin Funchess and the Dolphin's Louis Delmas (also an ACL) go down with injuries maybe we can make it to a game that actually counts.
