Miami Dolphins will hold joint practices with Carolina Panthers this summer | isportsweb
Typically joint practices are held the week leading to a preseason game between the two teams, but not always. The Miami Dolphins and the Carolina Panthers will be holding joint practices August 19-20 preceding their preseason matchup on August 22nd.Although not every team participates, more teams are beginning to adopt the idea. One of the main advantages of joint practices is allowing your players to see something different at practice.
Those Panther fans that attend final two practices at Gibbs Stadium at Wofford College are in for a treat. The Dolphins are a team on the rise and should provide some interesting story lines even for a preseason game. For instance consider the following:
1 - Cam Newton and Ryan Tannehill are both young QBs trying to move up to elite status though neither is getting much love at the moment when you look at QB rankings. In this game though expect to see much more of former Panther QB Matt Moore than Tannehill or Newton.
2 - OT Jonathan Martin will see his old team for the first time since departing after the bullying scandal.
3 - The Panther fans will get a look at Dolphin rookies WR DeVante Parker and DT Jordan Phillips.
4 - The Dolphins offseason acquisition DT Ndamukong Suh should give the offensive line a good preseason test.
