Cam will also get the largest 3 year payday in NFL history...
Cam Newton gets $103.8M in 5 year extension. Averages close to $21M/yr with $60M guarantee. Get massive $67.6M in 1st 3yrs. Wow...

I don't think there is a single educated fan that can disagree with the amount and structure of this deal. Cam Newton is worth every shiny penny. This deal is both a reward for Newton in that he will see a lot of his money up front, and a reward for the team in that they were able to find a figure that is completely within reason for what a franchise QB, who has yet to win an NFC title or Super Bowl, should be making.
This is not to say that Newton won't be driving the bus to the promised land in no time flat, but he has not yet, and the contract reflects that while encouraging him to do so.
I'm happy. You're happy. Puppies, kittens, and bunnies all around. It's a great day in Pantherland. Now the focus can return to building a Super Bowl Champion!!!
UPDATE: Cam Newton and the team will hold a press-conference at 6pm. It's GETTLEMAN TIME!!!
