Michael Oher feels at home as Carolina Panthers left tackle | The Charlotte Observer The Charlotte Observer
Starting at right tackle is Mike Remmers, who was a pleasant surprise for the Panthers during their late-season run to the playoffs. Chandler worked as the second-team right tackle on Thursday, and Jonathan Martin, claimed by Carolina off waivers this offseason, worked as Oher’s backup.
So Nate Chandler worked at RT while Martin is backing up Oher. That means rookie OT Daryl Williams will have to work his way up from the 3rd team at RT to get some playing time. That is something most of us expect to happen pretty quickly. In fact here's a conflicting report saying he is already working with the 2nd team.
Five OTA observations
Mike Remmers is the first-team right tackle, where he impressed at the end of last season. Rookie Daryl Williams, who will compete with Remmers for that spot, worked as the second-team right tackle. Guards Trai Turner and Andrew Norwell, who solidified the line as rookies last year, lined up as the first-team right guard and left guard respectively.
I'm happy to see Norwell is keeping his spot after playing so well last season. I'm still hopeful Silatolu can return to form and provide some quality depth but if he doesn't work out it's not a big loss at this point.
