The Panthers have been quietly and methodically going about their business in free agency so far. Frankly, most of the guys they've signed during the first week and a half of free agency have mostly underachieved throughout their careers. With that being said, it is slightly surprising that they've decided to bring former Green Bay Packer and two-time pro bowler Greg Jennings in for a visit.
We interrupt your NCAA Tournament viewing with some news: #Panthers had WR Greg Jennings in for a visit today http://t.co/Y8qXQZfcSD

Then again, the nine year veteran hasn't looked the same since he went four straight seasons with at least 949 yards receiving from 2008 to 2011, including three straight 1,000 yard seasons.
To be fair, he hasn't been a slouch either. In fact, over his last two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, he respectively caught 68 and 59 passes for 804 and 742 yards. At 31 years of age, Jennings should have plenty left in the tank and at least as much or more than the soon to be 33 year old Jerricho Cotchery, who was solid in his own right in his first year with the Panthers, but largely failed in the ever so important threat-to-score category. If he is willing to sign for the right price, then it's a no brainer. A proven commodity like Jennings would immediately upgrade the Panthers receiving corp. As intriguing as the possibility is, there is no guarantee he'll leave Charlotte with a deal in hand. If you'll remember, the last two known free agents to visit, WR Jarrett Boykin and CB Alan Ball, both left without signing a contract. Stayed tuned in to CSR for any of the latest developments concerning Jennings and all of the latest free agency signings.
