Boykin put up career numbers in 2013 but hardly touched the ball last season in GB:
Report: WR Jarrett Boykin to visit Panthers : Fantasy News
Former Packers wide receiver Jarrett Boykin is set to visit the Panthers, per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Boykin, 25, had a career-year in 2013 with 49 receptions for 681 yards and three touchdowns. Although he played in 13 games last season, he was only targeted 12 times, catching three passes for 23 yards.
I would assume the emergence of rookie WR Davonte Adams had a lot to do with Boykin not getting targets. Boykin isn't exactly the burner we are hoping for to stretch the defense. Boykin is more of a possession guy who blocks well and can make athletic catches. At first blush he doesn't seem to bring anything the Panthers don't already have one the roster, namely Jerricho Cotchery.
It's just a visit so it could very well be just kicking the tires. If that is the case then I would rather see us bring in the likes of Miles Austin, Denarious Moore, Cecil Shorts or Brandon Tate as well.
