Carolina Panthers rookie Kelvin Benjamin will undergo an MRI on his knee after a collision in practice on Sunday, according to Steve Reed of the Associated Press.
It's not believed Benjamin was seriously hurt in the collision, but any news of an MRI in concerning -- espeically for a team that has already lost two players on offense to season-ending injuries. Both offensive guard Edmund Kugbila and running back Tyler Gaffney will miss 2014, and while Benjamin's injury isn't on the same level it's still frustrating.
The Panthers need all the help they can on offense this season and Benjamin will be needed to make an impact quickly. He was selected as a long-term project who can develop into a future No.1 receiver, but his jump ball ability and size will be needed in red zone situations this season.
Up to this point he was having a fantastic offseason and training camp, here's hoping he'll be back to 100 percent and on the field again soon.
