Hey guys it is I NCByrdman, again coming to you with a general opinion of mine as to what out team will look and perform like this 2014 year. I have been reading digesting and clamoring for ALL things Panthers related since the draft.
I am struck by all the naysayers out there saying we are going from first to last and keep the curse going that has plagued the NFC South since it's formation. I say that's a load of C...p, we will still have arguably the best front seven on defense in the NFL, our secondary did get stronger despite what some think our special teams played much better last year also.
Now the offense, some say our WR corp will be worse than last year, me I say " no way ", they are younger, faster, and stronger that our receivers from last year. They have much better hands as a whole than our receivers from last year, we are so much taller as a whole. It WILL make a difference even if KB doesn't make the TD catch he will pull coverage so one of our other guys will be open. Cam is Cam he is going to put up between 3000-3800 yds passing and will run when he needs to or on some designed plays. Our running backs are in much better shape than last season, from everything I have read Stewart is 100 percent for the 1st time in his career, man if he was that good injured just think of him healthy, and do not forget DeAngelo either he still has gas left in the tank as evidenced last year in the win at SF. Add to that that Tolbert and our other backs and we will be fine. Our TE situation ha gotten better too, so i would say watch out NFC South here we come.
Now all that said, we do have better teams to contend with everyone got a little better some got A LOT better, Tampa Bay will be a force to be reckoned with, I see Atlanta rebounding but still lacking a great D line, New Orleans is just a good team anyway, well coached and led by Brees they are always in the hunt. With all the teams getting stronger in our division we will beat each other up and the best team will pull away.
Barring any major injuries I see us having a 10-6 season and contending for the division and playoffs
