For all who know the Panthers cap strapped approach here are some names left on the FA list that could make a difference. This is the time of the year we acquire some players you've heard of to come make a bigger impact on our team. Granted they may not be Brandon Flowers but Jabari Greer, David Stewart, Terrell Thomas, Eric Winston, Andre Gurode, Davin Joseph, James Anderson, Tyson Clabo, David Diehl, Asante Samules, Aaron Ross. I mean the list goes on and on. I have mainly focused on CBs and OL because those our are biggest needs but don't be fooled there is plenty of talent still unsigned.
I'm not a GM but I'd like to think that if you seriously wanted any of these players that you would have signed them in time for OTAs but maybe during this last little break before training camp you review your talent and expense accounts then reach out towards a vet to really pull the team together. I mean if Ron and Dave really think that Byron Bell could be a starting LT you wouldn't bring in David Stewart right away, it could crush Bell's ambition and dreams but maybe you give him a couple weeks to boost his confidence and then bring in the Big Country boy to create competition and strengthen the OL. Same for the DB core. I think bringing in Asante Samules would be great for us. I know that he isn't what he used to be but he is a great CB especially in zone coverage, from within the division and already has chemistry with Thomas DeCoud. Questions like is Isaac Sopoaga going to play better than Colin Cole for the veteran min will be circulating the front office. I'm excited to see the last couple players we pick up before training camp starts.
thanks for the read, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
