Tuesday Afternoon Prospects: Joy In The Journey

Jerry Lai-US PRESSWIRE

This journey had us traveling from one coast to the next and all points in between. It took up three-quarters of a year and it's finally coming to an end in a couple of days.

Perspective

Approximately eight months ago, you and I began this trip called Tuesday Afternoon Prospect. My goal was twofold:

The first was to provide you with a weekly outlet to discuss some of college football's most outstanding prospects, especially the ones who possess the potential to make an early impact for the Carolina Panthers. Secondly, I was determined to accurately provide informative analysis and honest opinions. Frankly, I have no regrets.

Predictably, I became more educated about the players that I spent hours researching, but something else occurred along the way. I learned more about myself. You see, T.A.P. was the perfect project for someone like me. It forced me to be vulnerable, to accept the fact that not all of my predictions will prove to be perfectly accurate. Several years from now when the dust has settled, there will inevitably be a mixture of both hits and misses. Let me put it this way. I am completely content being foolish for a day if it means I can occasionally be a genius tomorrow.

Final Word: Joy In The Journey

Can you believe that draft week is finally here? Soon we will be digesting, analyzing, criticizing and praising that which is behind instead of that which is ahead. Call me weird, but I'm one of those people who relishes the months of conversation, speculation and anticipation leading up to the draft.

In life, we're all tempted in various degrees and at various times to sacrifice the present at the alter of the future. In other words, the wedding day(night) isn't intended to be the primary focus when entering an engagement period. Rather, it's about cherishing every single moment you have with your partner. Moreover, attending a university isn't merely summed up in walking across a stage to receive your degree. It's about understanding that you'll never get those college days back again, so you better savor them while you can. Simply put. There is a joy in the journey.

Life philosophy aside, I'm grateful I was able to share this draft experience with each and every one of you.

As you can see below, there is a full list of all the prospects that were featured on T.A.P. over the course of the past eight months. Feel free to click on any of their names and it will link you directly to the original article.

At the very bottom of the page you will find my final mock draft. It will specifically feature the prospects that I have an affinity for.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read and/or respond during this inaugural season of Tuesday Afternoon Prospect.
