Plenty of other fan bases can brag about their quarterbacks and their records, but few can boast about having a clothing line. It's here where Cam Newton rises about the fray and into fashion. Belk is still selling items from the "MADE Cam Newton" collection and to the casual observer it isn't going to well.
What makes me say this? Well, everything is on clearance ... everything. There isn't a single item still being sold at full price, even the fairly pedestrian items like navy sports coats are well over 60 percent off.
This isn't because Cam isn't great, it's just that some of these clothes are, well, not the kind of stuff people buy on a regular basis.
I'm sure there are people out there who can pull off the floral polo thing, but I'm not one of them. Of course having a model who looks like Cameron Diaz in There's Something About Mary doesn't make my wallet burn a hole in my pocket.
Alright, lets leave the polos for a second. It's time for plaid, nice safe plaid. The plaid shirt has become the ubiquitous menswear for over 20 years for a reason. It's reliable, everyone looks good in them and it's a shirt style that doesn't look to re-invent the wheel.
This is frightening. It's one of those shirts that blinds you with it's gaudiness. Black and pink work great together when paired with skinny jeans or a music video playing on a screen in a "Hot Topic," but this shirt is whoa.
What the hell is "vacation destination" attire? Judging from this section isn't just the big and tall part of the collection. Maybe this idea here is that you're going to let yourself go while down at the beach, so you need larger shirts.
Alright we have one last Hail Mary to throw. Let's find a nice, simple T-Shirt. Nothing can go wrong there. A head hole, two arm holes and a solid -- that's all we need.
