The time to rush is now! Never again should RBs be taken for granted. This team needs fresh blood and they need it at 28 with Carlos Hyde. Just look at what Eddie Lacy has done for the Packers, look at what Marshawn Lynch has done for Seattle. Stop! Now remember ever great running play you have seen in the last three season, and that ladies and Gettlemen is why we need the best RB in this draft on our team protected by a two TE set and a mobile QB.
If you follow this team a fraction of the amount I do, you know that we are only trying to replace 10 catches a game. Sooooo my question to you is; what the heck else are we going to do? Run!!!! And you trust Jonathan Stewart and Deangelo Williams? I love those guys like really really really can't explain how much I rooted for them in 08 and 09 but the truth is they are nothing like what they used to be. It's a hard fact to digest but the only reason they are around is the stupid amount of dead money we would lose with them. They are too weathered and worn to carry this team on the ground, and Mike Tolbert isn't going to get it down every down either. If you are going to have a RB by committee you better make sure your council is strong, our core is losing its potency and we need to change that now.
picture this 1st and 10 on our 33, the drive has just started after a decent return and we line up 1wr, 2te and in the back Carlos Hyde to the left and Mike Tolbert to the right. Which side are we running to? Is it play action? Is Tiquan going deep? The box is loaded and we hike it, RB misdirection toward Tolbert and hand it left to Hyde, the line has already crashed right at the fake and our young power back hits the whole for 5 yards fighting like every young hungry nasty fighting back does. This kid hits the whole like a Dline man and that's why we need him on our team. Last time we tried to close out a game Jonathan Stewart fumbled, the last time we tried to get it across the goal line Cam got stuffed. Just think about it. Would you rather be a running team with a plethora of strong backs or claim to be a ground and pound team with nothing but waning talent. Not even getting into the fact that this kid Hyde can pass block, should I even mention how important that will be this season? Ohhhh yeahhh and he can catch out of the backfield, so all those screens and dump offs if watched Dwill and Tolbert drop could become a long forgotten memory? I'm just saying the position is there for a reason, and as a team who has claimed to live or die between the tackles I think it's time to put up or shut up. I mean really who says they are only trying to replace 10 catches a game and drafts a WR. Thanks your your time and as always KEEP POUNDING! .... No time for a poll because I'm off to work. Catch ya next week.
