Today is your lucky day if you're a fan of weird, nonsensical NFL attire. Running back Chris Johnson is a free agent after being released by the Tennessee Titans, he will likely find a home very quickly on a roster, it's pretty much impossible that his new home will be in Carolina -- yet there's a jersey for him available on NFL.com.
Maybe this is the league's attempt to cash in on that vast ECU market, but this discount jersey makes zero sense. Most likely it was a misprint for Jonathan Stewart (who also wears No. 28) but that doesn't make it any less weird or random.
It's admirable that only the NFL could completely mess up a player's name and still try to sell a product for $60, rather than simply scrapping it. Maybe there are some collectors of random merchandise who will snap this up, hoping it becomes a collector's item. If that's the case there's hope for my Chris Weinke jersey yet.
