Here's his latest first round mock:
2014 NFL mock draft: Falcons trade up for Jadeveon Clowney - SBNation.com
18. TRADE Carolina Panthers (via New York Jets) - Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan *Panthers trade their first-, third- and fourth-round picks to the Jets for pick No. 18 Our second trade happens with the No. 18 pick. With Jordan Gross retiring, the Panthers suddenly have a need at offensive tackle. After Taylor Lewan, there is a significant drop off in the talent at the position. Carolina could be a candidate to move up in the draft and take advantage of Lewan's small slide.
With such a deep draft I wince at the thought of giving up three picks for one player though I agree the need for a LT is immense. Yet is Lewan worthy of such a high price. I'm inclined to say 'Yes'.
So would Dave Gettleman pull the trigger on on such a move. To that I'm thinking 'No' but if there is one thing I have learned running this blog for over seven years, I'm rarely able to predict what any Panthers GM will do. That goes double for this new guy we are still getting to know.
So what are your thoughts Panther fans?
I should mention that Matthew will be joining Cat Scratch Radio tomorrow night to discuss the combine and all things NFL draft and of course who the Panthers might target at #28. So join us for all the latest action.
