I'm going to replace him with another TE and then add a WR and OT to round out the final two slots, using the other five players from 'The Finals' post. Using the latest Fanspeak Big Board for my rankings here's the first round pairings with the first poll in the bottom of this post. I'll post the other three polls later today.
#1 OLB Anthony Barr
#8 OT Cyrus Kouandjio
#2 OL Zack Martin
#7 TE Austin Sefarian-Jenkins
#3 S HaSean Clinton-Dix
#6 WR Marquis Lee
#4 WR Brandon Cooks
#5 CB Jason Verrett
1st Match-up Analysis: #1 Barr vs. #8 Kouandjio
Though the Panthers don't have a pressing need for an OLB Barr would present a dynamic Ron Rivera does not have on the roster. Barr brings an elite ability to rush the passer from the LB spot Sean McDermott would have fun scheming. It's just the kind of BPA pick we would never have guessed happening.
Koundjio on the other hand addresses a glaring need at LT. The Panthers are paper thin at OT and must now fill their holes with the draft. Kouandjio isn;t without his rough spots but he has the size and athleticism to be a long term answer at LT... provided you've gotten over the now-denied failed physical. In my view, if Dr. Andrews says his knee okay then that is good enough for me.
This first match-up presents a classic Best Player Available vs. Glaring Need decision. Cast your vote now and if you are so inclined tell us the reason for your vote in the comment thread.
