Brandon Cooks is a name that has been thrown around a lot when discussing options for the Panthers at #28, and I think it's a great pick. First and foremost, the guy is just a straight up and down playmaker. He goes 0 to 60 in no time flat and has serious yards-after-catch skills.
I know a lot of people want to take an OT in the first, but I think Cooks can help with protection in his own way. When you have a receiver who can make things happen after the catch like Cooks can, your QB is allowed to make short drop, high percentage throws and avoid taking big hits. With Cooks, Cam can quit taking 7 and 9 step drops and can start throwing more slants and bubble screens that could turn into big gainers.
