An offseason plan

This was previously a post I made in an open thread on here, but I think I'd get better feedback if I made it a fanpost.

This is a plan I laid out in my head that I think would make the most of this offseason, with Free Agency and the NFL Draft included. Without further ado:

Free agency: Nothing too drastic.
1. Sign Hardy to a long term deal, something around the 11m a year range.
2. Sign Terrell Thomas, CB. This makes our corners far better than they were last year.
3. (Optional) Bring back Travelle Wharton for one more year.

1st round: Marqise Lee, WR USC
TRADE: (Someone in the early second round.) Their 2nd pick for our 2015 2nd and 5th, possibly a 2014 6th also or something, entirely subjective.
With this 2nd round pick: Jimmie Ward, FS Northern Illinois
2nd round (60th overall): Joel Bitonio, OT Nevada.
3rd round: Troy Niklas, TE Notre Dame.
Later rounds: James Hurst, Kevin Norwood, Aaron Colvin. Hurst can develop at RT, or behind Bell(God forbid) for a bit if he needs it, but I think he’ll be better than Bell after a very short time. Kevin Norwood has very underrated hands and speed, and could turn into a very solid player for us. Aaron Colvin can redshirt for a year to rehab his ACL, but he was considered a 2nd round pick before his injury and for good reason.

It means we might have to tolerate Byron Bell for a few weeks into the season, but both Guard positions should be better this offseason with Amini and Kugbila. Yes yes, we don’t know how Kugbila is going to be, but there’s no way he can be worse than Nate Chandler last year. Our secondary would be much, much improved, and could possibly be, dare I say, stout. I think Ward becomes the next ballhawking FS phenom. This makes us a legitimate contender for the #1 defense. On the other side of the ball. We get an explosive playmaker in Lee, who has the potential to be the best receiver in this draft. We also get one of my favorite Tackles in Joel Bitonio, who plays a lot like Jordan Gross, using the term ‘Technician’ to describe both of them. He’s an extremely polished player. Niklas gives us a more traditional TE to pair with Olsen, not to mention he’s a friggin’ giant. He’d be a valuable redzone weapon as well as allow us to run two TE sets, helping us in both the run and the pass.

Now anyone who knows anything about the draft knows that those players could very easily be taken before our pick comes, but after researching and running through numerous scenarios, I don’t feel that I’ve been unrealistic with them being there.

So what do you think? Would this be a successful way to finish the offseason? Think we could even improve upon our 12-4 record if we did this?
