Post Combine 2 Round Mock Draft

Now that the Combine is over, we have an agonizing two month wait until the draft. Until then, feast on this new mock draft.

For the record, this mock draft isn't perfect. I don't care for where I have Derek Carr going, but I'll just fix it in my next mock.

  1. HOU – Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo

Clowney has work ethic issues and no QB really captures the Texans.

  2. ATL – (TRADE w/ STL) – Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina

Clowney falls, and Atlanta instinctively moves for him.

  3. JAC – Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M

Johnny Manziel has some similarities with Russell Wilson. Gus Bradley can’t ignore the allure.

  4. CLE – Blake Bortles, QB, UCF

Bortles is an upgrade from every QB on that roster and gives Cleveland a better chance to win.

  5. OAK – Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville

Oakland couldn’t be happier. Pryor clearly isn’t the guy, and neither is McGloin.

  6. STL – (TRADE w/ ATL) – Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson

The Rams trade down and still get the top WR in the draft. That’s a win.

  7. TB – Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M

    Penn just isn’t cutting it.

  8. MIN – Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA

No QB is worthy here, but Barr is of value and fills a need.

  9. BUF – Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn

Cordy Glenn needs to be moved. Robinson just adds to the athleticism of the Bills Offense.

  10. DET – Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M

The thought of Evans and Johnson is just scary.

  11. TEN – CJ Mosely, OLB, Alabama

The Titans need to beef up their Run Defense.

  12. NYG – Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State

Gilbert is too athletic to pass up, and he fills a need for the Giants.

  13. STL – Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan

The Rams now have two strong Michigan bookend tackles.

  14. CHI – Timmy Jernigan, DT, FSU

Regardless of Melton’s decision, the Bears need some beef upfront.

  15. PIT – Darqueeze Dennard, CB, Michigan State

Perhaps not the biggest need, but Dennard is a good value.

  16. DAL – Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville

Dallas has been looking for a dynamic playmaker in the secondary for some time now.

  17. BAL – Marqise Lee, WR, USC

    Flacco needs more targets.

  18. NYJ – Eric Ebron, TE, UNC

Geno Smith needs someone to throw to.

  19. MIA – Zach Martin, OT/OG, Notre Dame

The offensive line situation in Miami is a disaster.

  20. ARI – Dee Ford, OLB, Auburn

    John Abraham is old.

  21. GB – Ha’sean Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama

    Jennings out, Clinton-Dix in.

  22. PHI – Jason Verrett, CB, TCU

A super athletic corner like Verrettt would fit in nicely under Kelly.

  23. KC – Odell Beckham, WR, LSU

The Chiefs need another WR besides Bowe—why not another athletic LSU WR?

  24. CIN – Kony Ealy, DE, Missouri

Michael Johnson is gone and the Bengals need a pass rusher.

  25. SD – Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech

The Chargers give up too much through the air.

  26. CLE (via IND) – Kelvin Benjamin, WR, FSU

Paired with Gordon, this would be an incredible duo.

  27. NO – Kyle Van Noy, OLB, BYU

Gallette was a good find, but the Saints need a terror off the edge.

  28. CAR – Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia

Moses might not be Jordan Gross, but he might have just enough to play LT.

  29. NE – Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington

The Patriots two TE system was unstoppable.

  30. SF – Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt

Matthews, a relative of Jerry Rice, would fit nicely in a West Coast system. Goodbye Boldin!

  31. DEN – Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State

The Broncos desperately need some youth in their secondary.

  32. SEA – Xavier Su’a Filo, OG, UCLA

The Seahawks need some talent upfront, and XSF is an athlete.

  33. HOU – Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU

The Texans can afford to wait on Mettenberger, and the payoff could be great.

  34. WAS – Allen Robinson, WR, Penn State

Give RGIII someone to throw to.

  35. CLE – Cyril Richardson, OG, Baylor

The Browns could upgrade their RG.

  36. OAK – Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State

Typical Oakland pick. Bridgewater would like this as well.

  37. STL – (TRADE w/ ATL) Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh

Can you really argue with this value?

  38. TB – Troy Niklas, TE, Notre Dame

Tampa has lacked a true TE threat for a long time.

  39. JAC – Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame

Jacksonville needs some Bubba’s up front.

  40. MIN – Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State

    Ponder clearly isn’t the guy.

  41. BUF – Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech

  42. TEN – Scott Crichton, DE, Oregon State

  43. NYG – David Yankey, OG, Stanford

  44. STL – Lamarcus Joyner, S, Florida State

  45. DET – Ryan Shazier, OLB, Ohio State

  46. PIT – Rashede Hageman, DE/DT, Minnesota

  47. DAL – Dakota Dozier, OG, Furman

  48. BAL – Travis Swanson, C, Arkansas

  49. NYJ – Gabe Jackson, OG, Mississippi State

  50. MIA – Jeremy Hill, RB, LSU

  51. CHI – Jimmie Ward, S, Northern Illinois

  52. ARI – Carlos Hyde, RB, Ohio State

  53. GB – Chris Borland, LB, Wisconsin

  54. PHI – Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech

  55. CIN – Deone Bucannon, S, Washington State

  56. SF – Anthony Johnson, DT, LSU

  57. SD – Brandon Thomas, OG, Clemson

  58. NO – Jarvis Landry, WR, LSU

  59. IND – Demarcus Lawrence, OLB, Boise State

  60. CAR – Davante Adams, WR, Fresno State

Being big, strong, and agile, Adams has a lot in common with Anquan Boldin. Unfortunately for Steve Smith, the ideal complementary WR is coming at the twilight of his career.
