Receivers, Receivers, Receivers. With the 28 pick we wont be getting a Sammy Watkins or Marquise Lee, but there'll be some quality ones on the board. I know Kiper has us projected to get this Brandon Cooks guy, that ain't gonna happen. We need a receiver that has size and speed, that's why I like Mchays pick; Kelvin Benjamin. Everyone is a little skeptic of him because of his drops and route running. Well let me say this did he not catch the game winning pass with a guy draped on his back, too win the national championship?
I'm a Florida fan so I obviously hate FSU, but we have to get this guy, if hes available we have to get him. His potential is through the roof.I remember when Alshon Jeffery came out, they said the same thing. He fell to a late second round pick to the bears. Now he's a star. When you look at these two guys they're almost identical. Benjamin is most likely faster and has more upside. He is the perfect pick for the panthers and it would be a low stress environment for the rookie to develop.
Knowing the panthers we will get a offensive tackle which will do nothing for us. Offensive linemen are easy to come by in free agency so it doesn't worry me. A receiver will make a impact right away and that's what we need, to take that next step. All in all if Benjamin is available and we get linemen or a 5-8 slot receiver its going to be a choke.
