I've learned my lesson about believing everything I read on the internet. But nonetheless, I'd like to convey this "update" to my fellow CSR peeps.
According to Rotoworld via the Charlotte Observer:
DE Greg Hardy: Apparently both sides are still talking about a long-term deal. No indication on which direction talks are leaning. Apparently Carolina is primed to tag Hardy, however, if they can't reach a new deal.
S Mike Mitchell: Carolina is looking to "lock up" the safety.
WR Brandon LaFell: Sources indicated that LaFell is going to be allowed to walk.
WR Ted Ginn: Carolina hopes to re-sign Ted Ginn.
CB Captain Munnerlyn: This one is a bit surprising, but sources say that Carolina is going to let Captain Munnerlyn test the open market and possibly bring him back if he doesn't have anywhere else to go.
So far, most of our hunches have been correct. Re-sign Ginn and Mitchell, let LaFell walk. What's really shocking is that Carolina may actually reach a long-term agreement with Hardy--whom most of us have come to terms with the fact we won't have the Kraken next year. What's even more shocking is that apparently we don't give a damn about Munnerlyn.
Do what you want with this news, but it seems promising/concerning if it has some truth. If we DO let Munnerlyn walk, we absolutely need to find a new CB via free agency. We were already hurting to find a new LT, but now having to find a new starting CB? We're in for a rollercoaster ride this offseason, fellas.
