Sorry I'm a little late with this (ok, a lot of late), but I'm back with our 7th round pick, and he is,
Justin Britt, OT 6'6, 315 pound, Missouri
Justin Britt, OT
6'6, 315 pound, Missouri
HIGH SCHOOL- Played on both sides of the line of scrimmage for Lebanon High School, and starred on offense at left tackle. Ranked as the No. 19 overall prospect (any position) in Missouri, according to Rivals.com, and was ranked by ESPN.com as the No. 86 offensive tackle prospect in the nation. Was a First-Team All-State pick in 2008 as an offensive lineman, as well as taking home First-Team All-District and All-Conference honors.
2009 SEASON- Redshirted in his first season at Mizzou, but made favorable enough of an impression in his first fall camp that Tiger coaches were prepared to put him out on the field at any moment during the year.
2010 SEASON- Played in all 13 games in his first collegiate action as a reserve lineman for Mizzou in 2010. Spent most of the season second on the depth chart behind veteran guard Austin Wuebbels.
2011 SEASON - Started all 13 games at left tackle following the season-ending knee injury to incumbent Elvis Fisher. Played a major role in Mizzou's potent offense, as the team ranked 9th nationally in rushing offense and 12th nationally in total offense. Helped the Tiger offense allow just 18 sacks all year, the lowest total since the 2008 season. Also realized a lineman's dream when he took a swing pass on a gadget play against Kansas and took the lateral for a seven-yard rush.
2012 SEASON - Continued his development in his second year as a starter before missing the final 3-1/2 games due to a knee injury sustained in game #9 at Florida. Prior to the injury, started all nine games, including six at right tackle, sandwiched around three starts at left tackle as the Tiger line was continually shuffled due to injuries. Fell victim to the injury bug himself while attempting a tackle on an interception in the second quarter at Florida, and was lost for the remainder of the season. Despite missing the last three games, was still awarded with the team's Underclassman leadership award handed out at the season-ending banquet.
