My case for Spencer Drango OT

I watched the WV vs Baylor game back in October and specifically watched Drango as I had heard he was pretty good, I had no idea how good. At 6'5" 315 lbs he looks like the real deal for a LT ( taller and heavier than Jordan Gross ) as he has played at Baylor, no one during that game got around him in pass pro. As a run blocker they will use him to pull around to his right and be the seal blocker on many occasions, speaking to his quickness and athleticism, this is what CBS sports bio say about him.

" One of the top offensive linemen in college football, Drango enters his third season as the Bears starting left tackle.

STRENGTHS: Easy kick-slide with a wide base and the fluid lower body movements to properly protect the pocket from speed or power rushers. Drango is always alert and rarely caught off guard with a high football IQ and overall awareness to process situations quickly. He has the stone hands to jolt with little resistance, displaying the balance to handle defenders and stay off the ground.

WEAKNESSES: Very few holes to his game, but Nov. 2013 back surgery is a bright red flag and definitely something to monitor. If healthy and there are no long-term concerns, he has the overall ability to compete to be the top tackle drafted when he goes pro.

COMPARES TO: Zach Martin, Cowboys -- Drango has an impressive NFL skill-set as the game appears to come very easily to him. "

Now if I remember correctly a great many of us wanted Zack Martin last year for our LT but alas we didn't draft him and as a result we are 3-7-1 as of now because our O line does a poor job of blocking.

I truly believe Spencer Drango could go a long way toward improving our O line as Ogbuehi and Peat have both struggled this past year and Drango has not and is a big reason their offense has them ranked in the top 10 teams in the nation.

" 10/13/2014 - OT Spencer Drango (No. 6 offensive tackle, 42nd overall) - Drango helped Baylor pile up 782 total offensive yards. Drango and the Baylor front wore out TCU by the fourth quarter, paving the way for the Bears' dramatic 61-58 comeback victory."
