I trust everyone is having a happy and productive bye week. Don't get me wrong: That loss on Sunday still stings like hell, but it's nice to have a reprieve from the season that happened to coincide with Dragon Age: Inquisition coming out -- which is to say my life is lost to Kirkwall.
Back to football though. Here are some of the things you might have missed while mourning the loss of Jason Avant.
Ron Rivera doesn't expect Greg Hardy to return
Honestly, Hardy wasn't going to return -- no way, no how. The Adrian Peterson ruling was the nail in the coffin for any idea of the Panthers getting back their Pro Bowl defensive end this year.
It's an unfortunate set of circumstances if he's found innocent, but this was a bad year to find yourself in a bad situation if you're a player.
Cam Newton's Twitter was hacked
I love Cam, but his social media game is pretty weak and mostly tweets out stuff about commercials he's in. The person who hacked him did a way better job.
Mike Mitchell tweets "die broke" to Steelers fan
It seems he's fitting in well in Pittsburgh.
The small-school running back went undrafted in April before being picked up by the Cardinals. He ran for 49 yards in the preseason and would be a depth option here.
