2015 Mock Draft

Taking an early look at possible selections by the Panthers, we have some huge holes in the secondary and offensive line. We could add another running back and defensive end depending if Hardy is retained.

1st Round: Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford 6-7 312lbs.

This guy is massive and right now will be right around our pick. Given Peat's monstrous frame, it is almost unfair that he gains an immediate advantage on his opponent with surprising quickness off the snap. In pass protection, Peat has the agility to slip wide to his left, sealing off speed rushers trying to turn the corner, as well the strength to latch and control defenders.

2nd Round: Marcus Peters, CB. Washington 6-0 198lbs.

I know we don't normally draft people with character issues, but there is no doubting this kid is talented. But he hits hard, tackles very well in run support and downfield. Physicality and athleticism regularly stood out against top competition. Among his best attributes is recognition, as Peters plays the receiver very well, turning back toward the ball as the wideout does and frequently knocking the ball away or intercepting it. Compared by CBS Sports to Aqib Talib.

3rd Round: Kurtis Drummond, FS, Michigan St. 6-1 200lbs.

It's no secret that our safeties are complete garbage and this one is a favorite of mine. Drummond has the ballskills to make acrobatic plays on the ball with very good timing and coordination. He exhibits top confidence on and off the field and is well respected by his coaches and teammates, also making impact plays on special teams coverage.

4th Round: Javon Harrison, OG, Texas A&M, 6-3 325lbs.

Harrison has a thick build, especially in his lower body, that helps him absorb bull rushes and generate power as a drive blocker and is surprisingly fluid in pass protection. Harrison has been described by Aggies' coaches as their most athletic offensive lineman.

5th Round: Malcolm Brown, RB, Texas, 6-0 228lbs.

Brown looks the part with NFL build, running square to the line of scrimmage with the body strength to shake off single defenders and play with lower pad level than most on the field. He doesn't have dynamic elusiveness, but shows effective plant-and-go quickness with excellent play speed, always looking to get north-south in a hurry.

6th Round: Jameon Lewis, WR, Mississippi St. 5-8 187lbs.

Being as small as he is, it'll be difficult finding a job in the NFL for Lewis but his blend of burst, vision and surprising power has earned him a variety of roles at Mississippi State throughout his career. He's quicker than he is fast but shows impressive vision to take advantage of cutback lanes, making him faster on the field than he'll likely run for the stopwatch.

If I'm correct we don't have a 7th Round pick this season so that concludes my mock draft. I'm definitely not a draft expert so correct me if I'm wrong on some picks. I love hearing what you guys thought and hope we can fill some big holes this offseason! Analysis credit goes to cbssports.com.
