PFF Announces 2013 All Pro Team

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

The Panthers did not fare as well as I expected nor as well as they did with the NFL's recently announced All Pro team.

Poo poo it all you want I do think these guys at least have the solid data and analysis to back up their selections. As it stands only three Panthers made the PFF 2nd team with none making the first team.

2nd Team Fullback - Mike Tolbert

It was nice to see Tolbert get some recognition though I think it was more for his diversity and ability to carry the rock and block more so than his pure blocking ability.

2nd Team Edge Rusher - Greg Hardy

Hardy has been a monster on the edge and working from the middle, a skill he hasn't gotten much recognition for. Hardy is no one trick edge rushing pony. He is a multifaceted mythical creature that cannot be shackled by opposing offenses.

2nd Team Linebacker - Thomas Davis

Wow, Davis getting more love then Kuechly for a change. It's no slight to Kuechly in my view as I think Davis is very deserving of the recognition. He has had a monster year and in my view is one of the main reasons the Panther defense finished #2 in scoring defense.

Though I think several Panthers were obviously overlooked (like Kuechly) I'm not going to argue with anyone they have on their list as they appear to be very deserving. In the end all that matters is we are still playing and have a real shot and bringing home some team hardware that will outshine and individual awards that may be bestowed upon a Panther player.
