2014 NFL Draft order: 4 more picks determined - SBNation.com
If Sunday's game is any indicator, the Panthers may want to use their first-round pick on a wide receiver. Cam Newton completed passes to just three different wide receivers in a loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Two of them (Ted Ginn Jr. and Brandon LaFell) are free agents. The other, Steve Smith, turns 35 this year and said last year he wanted the team to draft a receiver. Fortunately for the Panthers, and other receiver-needy teams, the position is strong this year. Nineteen underclassmen wide receivers have already announced they're entering the draft so Carolina could get a good one, even with pick No. 28.
First though we have a free agency period to see if we can address some holes. Dave Gettleman doesn't seem to be the big spender type so the bigger question is will he decide to try and keep Greg Hardy? That will be one of his hardest decisions to make.
