The Panthers last second loss to the Bills in a game they should have easily won results in a slide in the SBN power rankings. Though some pundits thought the Panthers had enough talent to overcome the obvious coaching shortcoming, so far this season that has not been the case:
So it's not just within Panther fan circles that Rivera is making poor decisions, it's obvious at the national level as well. So will he finally learn this week that a 1 score lead is not good enough? We can only hope and pray it seems. The reference to Harrington might seem a stretch but honestly it's not. When your defense gives you 2 red zone turnovers and you take only one shot into the end zone and settle for FGs its a recipe for a loss. Rivera should have learned that in 2012 if not 2011 but here we are.
Looking at the top 10 I have to agree Denver is the class of the league and they are still without Von Miller. Seattle is an easy pick for best in the NFC. The same Seattle team the Panthers should have beat in their opener. That notion is what is still driving me crazy since falling to 0-2 in classic Rivera fashion. This team could and should be so much more. But I'm trying to put on a new face today after my Monday morning melt down so I won't get into Rivera's future. We will save that for next week. ;)
