Wow, the anger is overboard. The anger from the community and from the staff is inexcusable. Enough already. We love our Panthers, and we are going to keep loving them no matter how long it takes to like them too. That makes us a family. Yell a little, scream a little, then everyone sit down for a nice meal before we beat the Giants!
Here are a few bright spots.
Special Teams. The kicker is putting every kick through the uprights, and every kickoff out of the back of the endzone. The Punter is hitting it high and deep, and the guys are tackling. Ginn is returning everything he can, and doing it well. WHEN IS THE LAST TIME ANY OF THIS WAS TRUE?
Defense. We can stop the run. We can get pressure with only four guys. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME THIS WAS TRUE?
Offense. Smitty looks good still. This is almost always true.
GM. We got out of salary cap prison. We have some money to spend this year or next year. We drafted at least two guys that look like they will be around for a while. We actually have a rotation at DE and 3/4s of a DT rotation. We did not trade a pick away this year.
Coaching, ah um ah
Bottom line is that we are still bad. We were awful 2 years ago, we were very bad last year (The late season win streak against bad teams was fools gold for the second year in a row) But we are a better team in some areas, and we are no worse in any of the others. We were so bad in the key areas of OLine and DLine. So bad that it will just take several years to recover.
I believe we are headed in the right direction. But it is very hard watching while I wait!
