Practice is over, so let's take a look back at Twitter and see how things went.
Charles Johnson returns to practice
Hixon and Beason are still out. Josh Thomas also out. Charles Johnson back in full pads.— Joe Person (@josephperson) August 5, 2013
He missed some time after the Spartanburg heat got to him last week, but he's back now.
A few other players missed practice today:

Kugbila still out.— Joe Person (@josephperson) August 5, 2013
Hopefully Kugbila will be ready to go soon. He's missing valuable time due to his hamstring injury.
Brandon Williams impressive as a receiver, but not so much as a blocker

Good catch and throw from DA to B Williams on corner route. Dockery on coverage. Williams held on going to ground— Jonathan Jones (@jjones9) August 5, 2013
We've seen what he can do in the passing game. Now it's time for him to step up his blocking ability. If he can do that, he'll undoubtedly make the 53 man roster. (He may make the team anyway, depending on how the other TEs look in the preseason.)
Three WRs competing for two spots on roster
According to Jonathan Jones, there are three guys competing for the final two spots:
Imo After Hixon Ginn and Armanti there's only one, mayyyyybe two, spot(s) for Gettis Adams and Pilares.— Jonathan Jones (@jjones9) August 5, 2013
I think we can all agree to that. Which two make it is a different story, however.
The Panthers ran a goal line drill today, and it was apparently pretty intense.
Intense debut for goal line drill here in training camp. Coaches very animated. Several big time collisions.— Max Henson (@PanthersMax) August 5, 2013
I like that. There's no better way to get ready for big time stops when it's for real than to do it in camp. Let 'em hit each other hard and often!
If you have ever wanted a new Gatorade recipe, then you've come to the right place:
Just mixed yellow and blue Gatorade and holy wow I see what Steve Smith was on to!— Jonathan Jones (@jjones9) August 5, 2013
I haven't ventured that far out in my Gatorade consumption. I'm an orange or yellow guy myself. If you feel the need to try it, please report back to us and let us know how it goes.
There wasn't a lot of team chatter reported on Twitter today, so LaFell gets the quote of the day honor by default:
Kuechly's upset after face guarding Olsen and him still catching TD. Woulda been easy PI. LaFell yells "It's ok Luke. He's getting paid too"— Jonathan Jones (@jjones9) August 5, 2013
I do enjoy the fact that Kuechly is taking his pass coverage seriously, even if it is just practice. (Cue Allen Iverson spiel.)
Well, that's it for today's recap. As you can see, there wasn't a lot going on today. Hopefully tomorrow will bring us more news to discuss, so stay tuned.
