Josh Thomas will be the breakout player on defense for the Carolina Panthers in the 2013 season. He will lead all CBs in passes defended and snag 4-5 interceptions with one of them being returned for a touchdown. He will be the only cornerback on the roster to start all 16 games this season, due to injury or ineffectiveness of others on the roster.
After starting the last few games, I was most impressed with Josh Thomas because he held his own against high powered offenses such as the Falcons and Saints. After showing he can hold his own against them, I am not worried about how he will fare on the field against the Bucs. He only started four games yet was tied for 3rd on the team (2nd for CBs) in passes defended with 7. He also had a very nice run stuff against the Saints in week 17 that resulted in a 6 yard-loss.
Josh Thomas has floated around the league the last few seasons (previously before we picked him up) but I think he has found a home here in Carolina. REC to agree for the offseason challenge.
