Just like Cruz, Ikharo went undraft, signing as a free agent by Carolina this past May. Played in 25 games (23 starts) for Louisiana Tech, totaling 104 receptions for 1,067 yards and eight touchdowns. This was after playing in 15 games for Laney College, producing 60 catches for 771 yards and eight touchdowns.
Now, before everyone thinks I'm just saying this to cause trouble, I'm telling you that I see something in this kid. I have a feeling that with everyone looking at Edwards, Gettis, and Ginn, this kid has set himself up perfectly to sneak in a grab a spot.
He can run routes very well (not great), but what I like about him is his football speed and not being afraid to catch in traffic. Just take a look at the :45 mark. He knew he was going to get hit and still made the catch. That's impressive.
So, what do you guys think? Sound off below.
EDIT: After looking up and averaging the yards per game, I found that in college Cruz average 14.95 yards per game (131 games/1958 yards) compared to Ikaharo average of 42.68 yards per game (25 games/1,067 yards). I only took in account of Ikharo years at Louisiana Tech, but if I were to combine his other years at Laney College, then Ikharo average jumps to 45.95 per games. TDs in college? Cruz had 11, Ikharo had 18. So with less games then Cruz, Ikharo had more yards and TDs. Just a little F.Y.I.
