With the NFL conducting a fan vote for the Greatest Uniform in the NFL, the Panthers are rolling on to the next round after racking up a 65,000 vote lead over the division rival Atlanta Falcon's 1966 throwback uniform. After many years of clamoring and speculation, the Panthers brass finally gave the fans the all black uniforms they were hoping for, but perhaps not on an occasion they will want to remember.
The mostly forgettable game last season against the Denver Broncos is not something Panthers faithful will be wanting to remember, nor are the clips and commentary on their video particularly flattering with shots of Newton and Co. being tackled. I've never actually heard of Dave Dameshek before, but he might have to eat his words after this trouncing of the #6 "seeded" Falcons. The next matchup appears to be against the jersey of the 1973-1980 Los Angeles Rams and if past voting is an indication, the Panthers new unis could roll through that vote as well.
After all, it should be noted that of all the votes from the 3rd round the Panthers not only won despite being "begrudgingly" put in the bracket, but our all-black jersey received the more votes than any other uniform. In fact, in some cases it received more votes than other matches combined.
I guess they're not as forgettable as the "Uniform Monitor" would suggest. Could the Panthers new Alternate uniforms actually be the best uniform in the NFL? I personally would prefer matching black helmets to complete the look. What does the Panthers faithful think?
