Recently, a Cleveland Browns fan made a dying wish to his favorite team by using his obituary to ask the Browns to send representatives to act as pallbearers at his funeral so the Browns could let him down one last time.
So yeah, that's kind of awesome.
While the Browns aren't sending the defensive line to the funeral to oblige his request, they do plan to send representatives who will present the family with a #76 jersey at the memorial service (Lou Groza, who wore #76, was the deceased fan's favorite player), so at least they're doing something nice for the family.
After reading this news it made me think of what my last request would be if I were to give such a thing to the Panthers. After some careful thought, I think I've come up with the perfect idea.
My dying request would be for the Panthers to send long snapper J.J. Jansen and punter Brad Nortman to my funeral. Before the service is set to begin -- with my coffin staged in the corner of the chapel -- Jansen will snap my corpse to Nortman, and Nortman will then proceed to punt my body into my coffin; pulling off the perfect coffin corner kick and making my special teams loving soul smile one last time.
Pretty neat, huh?
But enough about me. Now that I've shared my last request, it's time for you to share yours. I know you won't be able to top mine*, but what would your dying request be? Feel free to discuss your ideas in the comments.
* I'm not trying to sound brash, but come on -- it is a pretty awesome idea.
