Today, the Keenan Allen will be meeting Carolina Panthers receiver coach Ricky Proehl at Proehlific Park in Greensboro, N.C. for his Pro Day. Allen will perform a full workout, including 40 yard dash, bench, shuttle, and run routes. His younger brother, former California quarterback and teammate, Zach Maynard will throw to him. Allen is a 20 year old, 6'2, 206 lb Greensboro native. He attended Northern Guilford High, where he excelled on both sides of the ball before attending The University of California to play wide receiver for the Golden Bears. While at California, he caught 205 balls for 2,570 yards and17 touchdowns before spraining his posterior cruciate ligament. In 2011, prior to his injury, he caught 98 passes for 1,243 yards and six touchdowns, following 61 catches for 737 yards and six touchdowns in 2012. Proehl has said that Allen is a gym rat and a great kid. Only one of six mock drafts form CBSSports.com have him falling out of the first round. The mocks have Allen landing to the Rams at 22, the Vikings at 23, 25, or the Texans at 27. With a good ProDay, Allen may surge up the draft boards as the number one draft choice at wide receiver and a likely first round pick for the Carolina Panthers in the 2013 NFL Draft.
