Let's start with the bigger names. I really like the thought of landing this CB in the 2nd round. He needed to improve on his 40 time and he did just that:
Johnthan Banks has slightly faster 40 at Mississippi State Pro Day - NFL.com
Johnthan Banks, CB (6-foot-2, 186 pounds) — Banks ran the 40-yard dash in 4.58 and 4.59 seconds, had a 4.28-second short shuttle, and a 34 1/2-inch vertical jump and 10-foot-6 broad jump. While his 40 time was slightly better than the 4.61 seconds he ran at the NFL Scouting Combine, Banks looked good in the positional workout.
Gotta love his size. Here's another CB with good size who might be a UDFA:
Montee Ball impresses at Wisconsin’s pro day - NFL.com
Marcus Cromartie, CB (6-0, 195) — Cromartie — who was not invited to the combine — ran the 40 in 4.47 and 4.38 seconds, and had a 4.08-second short shuttle and 6.91-second three-cone drill. He had a 34-inch vertical jump and 10-foot-1 1/2 broad jump. He did 14 strenght lifts. In the drills, Cromartie was a bit high in his backpedal and will need to correct that in order to increase his NFL chances. Still, his performance could vault him into seventh-round consideration in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Moving to the offensive line, a possible mid round pick and a UDFA at OG:
Josh Kline emerges as possible draft pick at Kent State Pro Day - NFL.com
Brian Winters, G (6-foot-3 1/2, 315 pounds) — Winters ran the 40 in 5.29 and 5.18 seconds. He had a 4.75-second short shuttle and 7.57-second three-cone drill. He had a 27-inch vertical jump and 8-foot-5 broad jump. Winters was unable to lift on the bench press due to a strained pectoral muscle suffered at the NFL Scouting Combine.Josh Kline, G (6-2 5/8, 307) — Kline ran the 40 in 5.12 and 5.19 seconds. He had a 4.59-second short shuttle and 7.66-second three-cone drill. His vertical was 27 inches and he had a 8-foot-5 broad jump. He performed 25 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. Kline — who was not invited to the combine — could be a possible seventh-round pick.
If you like size this guy is big even by NFL standards:
Ole Miss pro day features massive 6-foot-10, 388-pound OT - NFL.com
Terrell Brown, OT (6-10, 388) — Brown is massive and just might be the biggest player we’ve reported on in this space. He has 38-inch arms and a 92 3/8-inch wingspan. Brown ran the 40 in 5.80 and 5.88 seconds, had a 5.65-second short shuttle and a 8.98-second three-cone drill. He had a 23 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 6-foot-9 broad jump. He also performed 22 lifts on the bench press. Gilbert Pena, NT (6-foot-2 1/2, 330 pounds) — Pena ran the 40-yard dash in 5.52 and 5.51 seconds, ran the short shuttle in 4.88 seconds and had a 7.88-second three-cone drill. He had a 24-inch vertical jump and a 8-foot-0 broad jump. He also had 23 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. Pena could be selected as high as the seventh round in the 2013 NFL Draft, or be a priority free agent at the draft’s conclusion.
Something tells me he will be too big. Here's another OT that apparently had the scouts scrambling for tape:
Glenn Foster has scouts scrambling after Illinois’ pro day - NFL.com
Glenn Foster, DL (6-foot-3 5/8, 286 pounds) — Foster ran the 40-yard dash in 4.82 and 4.79 seconds, had a 4.45-second short shuttle and a 7.15-second three-cone drill. He recorded a 39 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-9 broad jump. He also had 29 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. Foster was not invited to the NFL Scouting Combine. Foster had a fantastic workout, and he would have been the top performer in his position group at the combine in the vertical jump and broad jump. Foster will have a lot of scouts scrambling back to the film room to see why he didn’t have a better draft grade and wasn't invited to the combine.Hugh Thornton, G — He also kept his numbers from the combine, and weighed 322 at the pro day. He had a very good positional workout.
Akeem Spence, DT — He kept his numbers from the combine, but weighed 306 at the pro day. He also ran the short shuttle, doing so in 4.60 seconds.
Some like Spence as a mid-round pick. Here's a possible red zone target:
Eastern Washington’s pro day interrupted by hail, snow - NFL.com
Brandon Kaufman, WR (6-5 1/4, 215) — Kaufman ran the 40 in 4.58 seconds with the wind and 4.63 against the wind. He had a 35 1/2-inch vertical jump. His short shuttle time was 4.55 seconds and the three-cone drill was done in 6.96 seconds. Kaufman was at the NFL Scouting Combine.
We finish up with a late round safety:
Texas Tech’s LaAdrian Waddle could move into back end of draft - NFL.com
Cody Davis, safety (6-1 7/8, 203) — Davis ran the 40 in 4.42 and 4.41 seconds. He had a 41 1/2-inch vertical and 10-foot-3 broad jump. His short shuttle time was 4.00 seconds and he had a 6.78-second three-cone drill. He had 15 lifts on the bench press.
