It would be difficult for me to predict the winner of this first showdown because both tandems are formidable in their own right. Despite their similar height, the receivers in this match are distinctly different in several ways. For example, Allen is a much better route runner than Patterson.
On the other hand, Patterson appears to have elite acceleration and open field running ability. This isn't to say that Allen is slow, but Patterson clearly shows more breakaway speed on film. Patterson also seems to have a bit more upside because he is so raw and inexperienced, which is the best indication that he is a boom or bust type of player. Allen would be the safer pick in terms of his overall understanding of the position and the ability to translate that knowledge on game day.
It's a bit more challenging to compare and contrast the second rounders simply because they play completely different positions on defense. Williams mixes it up with in the trenches, while Elam is mostly defending in the backfield. I'm not sure one of these guys has any more upside than the other. I also think that they both have the potential to start from day one under the right circumstances. This is going to be a tough decision.
The two teams facing off in Match Two of the Second Round are:
Team A: Cordarrelle Patterson (WR) and Matt Elam (S)
Team B: Keenan Allen(WR) and Sylvester Williams(DT)
