At this stage it's a near-guarantee we'll see a receiver as one of the team's first two picks. The amount of time they've spent looking into the position dwarfs all others, and they're focusing primarily on players who will be available in the first and second rounds.
Patton is a receiver with two full seasons of sustained performance, and represents a fairly safe bet that he'll become at least a valuable contributor. Another senior bowl standout, he cut his teeth during the regular season too -- putting forth one of college football's best receiving games. In that October 13th game against Texas A&M he finished with an astonishing 21 receptions, for 233 yards and 4 touchdowns.
At 6-0, 204 pounds he has good size, and above-average athleticism. Given the teams interested all pick at the back-end of the first round, it's unclear whether Patton will even be available in the second.
