While interacting with some fans on twitter, Carolina Panthers' cornerback Captain Munnerlyn revealed that division rivals Tampa Bay have expressed interest in signing him. The Buccaneers have done a lot of work this free agency in revamping their secondary, adding Dashon Goldson in the first week.
It's hard to know what to make of Munnerlyn saying Tampa Bay are interested, mainly because of how little information we've heard about him from any outlet. There were some early rumors that the Cleveland Browns would look to sign him, then nothing until now.
Just prior to free agency Munnerlyn's agent made the media aware four teams were interested in his services, but that hasn't resulted in any concrete news of the Panthers' corner visiting teams. Carolina figures to still have interest at the right price, but if multiple teams are truly interested it's unlikely they'll get into a bidding war.
Either way, losing any player to a division rival is pretty terrible.
