No Need To Panic Over Free Agent Moves

Stay connected for news and updates

Fans are getting impatient over all the free agent moves and our lack of transactions in light of everything that's going on. This a friendly reminder of how much Gettleman had to unravel Hurney's salary cap debacle and setup a new road of consistency for years to come. People are starting to realize how bad it is or was. But,I say it's no need to panic over free agency. Our numbers on both sides of the ball is 22/22. 22 points scored and 22 points given up, but the numbers do not tell the whole story. The team evolved in the latter part of the season on both sides of the ball and any true fan would be inclined to believe that we are much more dominant on both sides of the ball than our numbers would indicate. We dominated the Saints in the last game and we didn't even have Greg Hardy playing. Fixing this cap mess and keeping key players in place is the major focus in the offseason, outside of scouting for the draft. I admit a dominant DT is needed, for two reasons..first of all if a team can run the ball on you then they can dictate the game e.g. (clock management and opening up the passing game); and two, a dominant DT would push teams to edges rather than the middle where Hardy and Johnson are there to wreak havoc. I'm sure this will be addressed one way or the other. Everything they do now is smoke and mirrors they won't show their cards until the draft. My whole point of this at 22/22, any solid moves on both sides of the ball would improve us vastly. We can't afford big FA's, but more importantly we don't need em. Go Panthers!
