On his second touch of the game Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart took a shot to the right knee as he was going out of bounds. I cringed on the replay and thought for sure it had to be bad. The announcers on the other hand said he walked it off but know we are hearing it could be bad.
Report: Jonathan Stewart suffered serious knee injury - NFL.com
The running back suffered what The Charlotte Observer called a "serious right knee injury" in Sunday night's 31-13 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Stewart left the game after Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis hit him low to snuff out a 16-yard reception. After a trip to the locker room, Stewart returned to the sideline with his knee wrapped. He is expected to undergo MRI testing Monday.
Though I pray there is no damage I'm expecting the worst based on what I saw on TV. It really blows because Stewart was fantastic on those two touches and made me wondered where he went afterward. Then they showed the replay of the hit and I was aghast at the angle his knee took upon the hit.
Again, here's to hoping good news and I see will wait until the MRI results are posted before going any further with the impact of this development.
