It started with the 49ers game... I wrote a quick goofy poem and we won. So I made it a new ritual and noticed every week, the more thought I put into, the better it seems we scored! So here is my gift to my fellow Panther fans - may it all come true!
‘Twas the night before the Saints game, when all through the heavens
Not a player was stirring, not even Jahri Evans.
The cleats were all hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that the Panthers soon would be there.
The players were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Cam Newton danced in their heads.
And the best front 7 with Luke at the lead,
Their dreams turned into a nightmare, this NFC 2 seed.
When out on the turf there arose such a clatter,
Drew sprang from his bed to see what was the matter.
He grabbed his football and ran out on the field,
The #2 Quart back was not ready to yield.
He saw this young team dressed in all black and blue,
And Thomas Davis was mouthing "I'm coming for you".
Now Cam, Now Tolbert, Now D-Will and Stew,
On Steve Smith, on Lafell, on Olsen - What a crew!
And then in a twinkling he heard the crowd roar,
He hadn't quite faced a team like this before.
As he pulled up his head and was turning around,
Down the field Charles Johnson came with a bound.
He sprang into action, to his team gave a shout.
He had no idea this game would not be a blow-out.
As he lay on his back looking up to the sky,
He finally realized they could kiss the division title good-bye.
As Tolbert danced in the end zone, a right Jolly old elf,
We all laughed when we saw him, in spite of our self.
And I heard them exclaim as they drove out of sight,
Merry Playoffs to all, the Panthers owned tonight!
GO PANTHERS, KEEP POUNDING!
