This is the best thing ever, really it is. I'm a fan of things that don't make any sense, and of all the non-sensical things this one is the wildest. Some fans have made comparisons to Nate Chandler, but at least he had college experience playing tight end before making the switch from DT to OL -- it's not much, but it's a start.
Looks like DT Sione Fua has been moved to OL. Panthers have a history of that.— Joe Person (@josephperson) November 6, 2013
The move leaves the Panthers with very few healthy defensive tackles, but that's the minor story here. The showpiece is that Sione Fua is an offensive lineman. A real life offensive lineman. Sometimes throwing stuff at a wall is fun, and this is one of those moments. This is a short-term option, that much is clear -- but perhaps the idea is that he learned how to stop defensive tackles by osmosis. Heck, Fua has had first-hand experience of that for three years.
Pretty unbelievable to see a move like that at midseason for a guy who spent his whole career on the defensive line.— Joe Person (@josephperson) November 6, 2013
I'm right there with you Joe. Beautiful, isn't it?
