All the talk about dropped passes motivated me to go look for some stats, as I know many CSR readers do enjoy their stats! These numbers put things into perspective, however I am an emotional fan (I'm a girl - supposed to be, right?) and vehemently still support my favorite all time Panther, Steve Smith. Regardless of the drops, he is still making key plays and I predict he will pull off a few more "amazing" receptions/plays before the end of the season.
I made it a point to count drops during the game last week and we counted Steve Smith with 2, Brandon Lafell with 2, and Ted Ginn with 1. You may disagree, but that's what we saw... I told the kids a soon as Steve dropped the second one, it would NOT happen again in that game! No one can be harder on Steve than he is on himself. I have hope they all will improve these stats as the season progresses, but, as much as it pains me to say this, I do agree we need a new #1 WR. There, I said it. Now I feel dirty... Is he washed up? HELL no! Does he need to retire in the next couple of years? Yes, but until then I'll be cheering every time he gets the ball!
Here is the link to the Entire table. (I couldn't figure out how to make it display in the post as a table - I'm still a newbie)
