It's clear, the panthers are getting weaker at the Wr position but in all honesty Wr is the last position we need to fix. Of course Steve Smith is getting older, and Lafell has been dropping a-lot of passes, but what we need to focus on are
Carolina's Wide receivers are improving though roughly this year. with Ted Ginn making an amazing statement this
year for the panthers with 20 receptions for 357 yards and 2 touchdowns (impressive for ted). Tagging along with
that is Brandon Lafell having a nice year so far with 21 receptions for 278 yards and 3 touchdowns. Now those stats
aren't mind jumping but it shows that these guys are here to improve and young (both ted, and Lafell are under 30). Steve Smith however pans out with 32 receptions for 335 yards and 3 touchdowns, that is good but ted Ginn already has more yards than Smitty with 12 less receptions; imagine if Ted had that many completions. Due to yards per average we could assume he would have roughly 570.6 yards (that would be monumental) that is more than Calvin Johnson's yards so far this season. So a better question would be why can't Ted Ginn be our future number 1? An easy answer would be he has "gator arms" and sometimes "brick hands" but with a good Wr coach those can be eliminated, and Ginn would be the next big thing in Carolina. Taking that into consideration, would you really want towaste a first round draft pick on a receiver, or trade away an early pick when we dont have to worry right now? If Cam wants anything it's to win, and if we take the time to draft o-line (or cornerbacks) first Cam will soon see a playoff win, and all the hate will go away, and we can enjoy a Lombardi trophy one day down the road.
