Davis was sensational in the Panthers 35-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, totaling nine tackles, 2.0 sacks and defending a key pass in the first quarter.
It hasn't been a noisy season for Davis, but he's on the way to the best year of his career. The nine-year veteran is on pace for 120 tackles and 10.0 sacks, both of which would be career highs. Defensive coordinator Sean McDermott is moving the outside linebacker around and putting him in places where he can rush the passer -- something that was under-utilized under John Fox, for whom he played more of a traditional role.
For a while it looked like Davis might never play again, let alone dominate at the highest level. Many believed multiple surgeries would slow down the veteran, but he has continued to deny the odds and serve as a role model to players looking to recover from knee injuries.
From everyone at Cat Scratch Reader we would like to congratulate Thomas Davis for his accomplishment.
