Upgraded from a 'person of interest' Tennessee Titans' executive is interviewing today.
The Carolina Panthers are interviewing Lake Dawson, Tennessee Titans Vice President of football operations for their general manager job.
Reported by Joseph Person, via Twitter -- Dawson now joins Marc Ross, Dave Gettleman, and George Paton as the fourth confirmed candidate who has already interviewed, or will be interviewed for the job. He has a background in both pro and college scouting, and as a former player will surely appeal to Jerry Richardson's personal sensibilities. You can read more about him as an executive here.
Dawson would be a savvy candidate who has NFL experience in multiple stops. As more teams start to finalize their GM searches, it's likely the Carolina Panthers will be looking to make a hiring late-week. The new general manager will have a lot on their plate, including solving the Panthers' cap situation, as well as working closely with head coach Ron Rivera in finding replacements for position coaches who were fired yesterday.
