Offseason Speculation Episode 3: The Offensive Line

Too be a successful NFL team you have to be good in the trenches. While the defensive tackle wasn't stellar, I think the offensive line was an even worse. At the beginning of the season it was acceptable, but the minute Ryan Kalil got hurt the line sucked. Here's what I think the Panthers should do:

Restructure Gross- Can someone explain to me how hes making so much money? I know Gross used to be a great player and still plays well but no way is worth what they're paying him. This should be the new Gms 2nd order of business (of course after the head coach decision). Since hes not playing great he shouldn't be payed great money.

Sign a key free agent- I have a few names that would be great additions to the offensive line. First off I would like to suggest Branden Albert, all thought he is returning from an injury, he is a good player and would most likely be happy to leave the Kansas City. The 2nd guy whose worth signing is Andy Levitre, this guys a pimp on the field. He has started in all 16 games all four of the seasons hes played in and he just plays well.

Draft more depth- In a perfect world Luke Joeckel would refuse to play for any team but the Panthers, unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world and Joeckel will be long gone before the Panthers pick. There is a chance the Jake Matthews could be available and he would be a solid pick however I don't think the Panthers should take an offensive linemen in the First round unless it's Joeckel. I think the Panthers should take either Barret Jones, Dallas Thomas or DJ Fluker in the 2nd round. After that I think the should add some depth in the later rounds.

These are all the things I think the Panthers have to do to have a successful offensive for the future.

What do you guys think?
