John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

Did we say they were meeting today/ We meant tomorrow! Seriously I'm not sure if it really keeps changing or maybe someone got the date wrong from the get go. You'll have to check back tomorrow to see if Ron Rivera remains the Panthers HC.

From Joe Person:

Ron Rivera, Carolina Panthers to meet Saturday - NFL.com
Owner Jerry Richardson and Rivera will sit down on Saturday, according to Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer. The Panthers are then expected to meet with general manager candidates. New York Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross and senior pro personnel analyst Dave Gettleman are both expected to interview. It's very possible we won't know Rivera's future until the Panthers hire a general manager.

Person's best guess is that Rivera will stick around with a first-time general manager. In that scenario, Rivera would likely need a playoff appearance to stick around for another season. It's the same situation Lovie Smith faced in Chicago this year.

So now it's Saturday barring yet another push back.

I think Person is correct on how this is going to go down. Rivera gets one more season to make the playoffs or he's out and the new GM can bring in his guy.
